Antique Dresser : before & after

I found this antique dresser a few months ago at Good Will. While VERY old, it's in pretty good shape. I snatched it up and in my garage it sat - waiting its turn for a makeover.

A client of mine reserved it and requested Old White with distressing. She opted to forgo the mirror but to keep the original hardware.

Here is how it looked in original form:

And here is how it looks after it's makeover:

Such a fun, old piece!
I actually just finished painting the mirror as well.  It turned out great.  If I don't decide to keep - I'll list it for sale in the next few days!  :)

Boy Crazy

Family Update!
We added a new chair to our lakeside seating area.  We are pleased to announce baby boy #3 will be joining our crew in October!

I feel like I'm in high school and boy-crazy all over again!

Primer Red Dresser

I love this little dresser.
It was in great shape when we found it.
Here is what it looked like in original form.

The client who reserved this piece requested it be painted in Annie Sloan's Primer Red. Great color choice! After distressing, I followed up with some dark wax to make it look a bit more aged.
The wood top was in great shape - so we decided to leave it unpainted.  I sanded it down and gave it
a fresh coat of stain and then sealed it with clear wax.

Such a great barn red color. Love the results!

Crystalline Dresser

A new client of mine reserved this dresser / mirror set from the Coming Soon tab on my website.
She wanted it painted in Benjamin Moore's Crystalline paired with new glass hardware. I was anxious to get started on this piece, the paint is a really beautiful subtle blue.

Here is how the dresser turned out.

I have yet to take more detailed photos of the piece with the mirror attached. I'll make sure to update this post once I have more pictures to share!  Where does my time go?!

Summer Yellow

Here is a custom project that I just finished.
I heart this color. Yellow reminds me of all things summer.

My client is giving this to a friend for her wedding gift.
Cheers to the future Mr & Mrs!

Nautical Accent Chair

I found this chair at Good Will this weekend
and I was instantly motivated to try a (new-to-me)
dry brush technique on it.
It was a whopping $4.00 so it certainly would not
be a costly mistake should it not turn out.

Here is how the chair looked when I loaded it up in my car.

I first painted it Paris Grey and once that dried,
I dry brushed Old White over it.  It turned out just as I was hoping.
I love the results.  The white highlights all of the chair's unique detailing.
After some light distressing, I buffed the entire piece
and the chair frame was finished.
On to the chair seat.
The existing material just wasn't doing it for me -
I pretty much ripped the fabric off as soon as I could get my hands on it.
I decided to cover it with a nautical linen that I've had for a little while.
I love the blue paired with the soft gray frame.

I originally wasn't planning on keeping this chair,
but I think it just found a new home here!

Small Server :: before & after

If you recall from a few posts back,
I've been working with a client who
recently purchased a new lake home.
She wanted to transform some of her existing pieces
so they were lighter and brighter.
We helped her with a large china hutch and a buffet.
Here is the last piece of the trio of furniture, a small server.

We kept with the same theme: Old White & lightly distressed.
I love how all of these pieces turned out!

Here is the small server, ready for its new lake home.

Matching Twin Beds

I forgot to take a before photo of this project.
Bummer!
A new client dropped off matching twin beds.
We decided to paint them Old White and lightly distress.
They now are just darling!

I'm officially on the hunt now for a set of twin beds
to re-do for my boys.
Too cute!
